Deaf Tennis
Deaf tennis requires no adaption to the game other than making sure communication is clear between players, coaches and officials.
Players must play without their hearing aids and to qualify must have a hearing loss of at least 55 dB’s in their better ear.
Deaf players can play against other deaf players or non-disabled players.
At the moment there are no sessions run at York. Our current hearing impaired players attend mainstream sessions but if anyone is interested in a deaf specific programme leading to performance play then please get in touch and it can be arranged.
